We are seeking dependable and safety-focused Press Brake Operators to join our manufacturing team.
Position Summary
The Press Brake Operator is responsible for setting up and operating press brake equipment to bend, shape, and form sheet metal components according to engineering drawings and production specifications. This position requires attention to detail, mechanical ability, and a commitment to producing safe, accurate, and high-quality work.
Essential Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC or manual press brake equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, work orders, and bend specifications.
- Select and install the proper tooling for each job.
- Adjust machine settings, including bend angle, depth, pressure, and back-gauge position.
- Measure completed parts using tape measures, calipers, protractors, and other measuring tools.
- Inspect parts to ensure they meet dimensional and quality requirements.
- Identify and correct basic equipment or quality issues.
- Handle sheet metal and completed components safely.
- Maintain accurate production records.
- Keep the work area organized and follow 5S standards.
- Perform routine equipment inspections and basic preventive maintenance.
- Follow all safety procedures, including proper machine guarding and lockout/tagout requirements.
- Work cooperatively with production, quality, maintenance, and leadership teams.
- Perform other manufacturing duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous press brake, sheet metal, fabrication, or machine-operation experience is preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints and understand basic manufacturing specifications.
- Ability to use tape measures, calipers, angle gauges, and other measuring tools.
- Basic math skills, including fractions and decimals.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Dependable attendance and willingness to work some Saturdays.
- Willingness to learn press brake setup and operation.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive movements.
- Ability to safely lift and move materials throughout the shift.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, machinery, and changing temperatures.
- Ability to wear all required personal protective equipment.
Work Schedule
This position works four 10-hour shifts, Monday through Thursday. Overtime and some Saturdays may be required based on production needs.
