The Mighty Argo Cable Car (MACC) visitor experience in Idaho Springs is a state-of-the-art destination connecting guests to Colorado’s rich mining history, scenic mountain trailheads at Virginia Canyon Mountain Park, and sweeping views of the Rocky Mountains from Miner’s Point — a vibrant mountain-top plaza featuring food and beverage, retail, an amphitheater, and year-round events.
Position Overview
The Food & Beverage Supervisor plays a key operational leadership role responsible for overseeing daily food & beverage service and bar operations at Miner’s Point. This role supervises frontline food and beverage team members including line cooks, prep cooks, bartenders, bussers, and logistics driver while supporting efficient kitchen operations, bar service, and guest dining experiences in a high-volume tourism environment.
Working closely with the Culinary Director and Outpost Manager, this role helps coordinate kitchen production, bar service, guest-facing dining operations, and special events while supporting safe, organized, and hospitality-focused operations across the property.
This role also collaborates with Guest Services, Lift Operations, Retail, Facilities, and Events teams to support smooth daily operations and an exceptional guest experience.

Key Responsibilities
Food & Beverage Operations Leadership
- Oversee daily food & beverage service and bar operations to ensure proper staffing levels, efficient service flow, food quality, a positive guest dining experience, and sales performance aligned with company revenue goals.
- Maintain a visible operational presence throughout food & beverage areas to support staff and guests during service periods.
- Coordinate service flow between kitchen, bar, and guest dining areas.
- Monitor staffing levels, service pace, and guest demand, to support to maintain efficient service during peak visitation periods.
- Monitor food & beverage service areas and bar to ensure organization, cleanliness, and operational readiness throughout the day.
- Ensure team members are trained on, equipped with, and consistently adhere to all systems, tools, policies, regulations, and applicable laws.
- In partnership with the Culinary Director, maintain consistent food quality, preparation standards, and service timing.
- Assist operational staff during peak service periods to maintain efficient operations.
Kitchen Operations Support
- Support kitchen operations in coordination with the Culinary Director to maintain efficient food production and overall kitchen performance.
- Supervise kitchen and bartenders in maintaining organized stations and proper food preparation, par levels, FIFO, and labeling.
- Ensure staff follow standardized recipes, portioning guidelines, and preparation procedures.
- Communicate product shortages or operational needs to leadership and logistics staff in a timely manner.
- Monitor production readiness and support kitchen workflow during peak service periods, high-volume tourism days, and special events by coordinating prep levels, assisting with station coverage, coordinating order timing, and maintaining efficient service flow.
Guest Experience & Operational Coordination
- Reinforce MACC hospitality and service standards across all food and beverage areas.
- Support service recovery and efforts in accordance with MACC hospitality standards, address service concerns professionally, and escalate complex issues when appropriate.
- Collaborate with Guest Services, Lift Operations, Facilities, Retail, and Events teams to support a safe and well-coordinated guest environment.
- Communicate operational updates, menu availability, service delays, and daily priorities to staff and guests as needed.
Cost Control & Inventory Oversight
- Support inventory management, ordering, receiving, storage, and stock rotation practices for food, beverage, and service supplies.
- Monitor product usage and support waste reduction through proper preparation, storage, and portion control practices.
- Assist leadership in identifying operational efficiencies and cost-control opportunities.
Bar & Beverage Operations
- Supervise daily bar service operations to ensure efficient beverage preparation and guest service.
- Support bartenders in maintaining an organized bar environment and responsible alcohol service practices.
- Ensure compliance with Colorado liquor laws, age verification procedures, and company alcohol service policies.
- Verify bartenders maintain required TIPS certification and support compliance with responsible alcohol service training requirements.
- Support accurate POS transactions and payment handling procedures for bar/beverage service.
- Assist with bar operations during peak service periods and special events as needed.
Special Events Support
- Support food and beverage operations during amphitheater events and special programming at Miner’s Point to help maintain efficient service and positive guest experiences.
- Coordinate with Events, Guest Services, Lift Operations, and Facilities teams to support special events.
- Assist with event staffing coordination, service planning, operational setup, and guest service execution during high-volume events.
Team Leadership & Staff Development
- Supervise and support frontline food and beverage team members during daily operations.
- Assist with scheduling, shift coverage coordination, onboarding, hiring, and training efforts.
- Provide coaching, training, and feedback to reinforce service standards, food safety practices, and operational expectations.
- Ensure staff maintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
- Support performance management processes, including documentation and escalation of performance concerns to leadership when appropriate.
- Conduct shift briefings to communicate daily priorities, menu updates, operational changes, and service expectations.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and hospitality-focused team culture.

Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in hospitality, culinary arts, business, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- 3+ years of supervisory or leadership experience in restaurant, café, bar, hospitality, or tourism operations.
- Culinary experience preferred.
- Experience supporting kitchen operations, food service teams, or bar service in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and support frontline teams during high-volume service periods.
- Familiarity with POS systems, food service operations, and inventory management.
- Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation standards, and responsible alcohol service practices.
Certification Requirements
- Food Manager Certification required at time of hire or ability to obtain within four (4) weeks of hire.
- TIPS Certification required for alcohol service oversight or ability to obtain within two (2) weeks of hire.
Compensation
- $26.00 - $28.00/hour, commensurate with experience.
- Full-time, Non-exempt.

Working Conditions
- Position based on-site in Idaho Springs, Colorado.
- Work is performed in both indoor café/bar environments and outdoor plaza areas.
- Requires standing and walking for extended periods.
- Requires working weekends, holidays, and peak tourism periods.
- High guest traffic and activity levels during peak seasons and special events.
