Full Job Description

A well-established skilled nursing and rehabilitation center in Somerset County is seeking an experienced, organized, and motivated Food Service Director to lead our Dietary Department and ensure the highest standards of food quality, nutrition, and resident satisfaction.

Position Summary:
The Food Service Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the facility's dietary operations, ensuring residents receive nutritious, appetizing meals while maintaining compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. The Director will work closely with residents, families, nursing staff, registered dietitians, and the interdisciplinary team to support quality resident care through exceptional food service.

Responsibilities:

Oversee the daily operations of the Dietary Department, including food preparation, meal service, sanitation, and staff supervision.
Ensure all meals are prepared and served in accordance with physician orders, therapeutic diets, and resident preferences.
Manage dietary staff scheduling, hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
Maintain compliance with all federal, state, local, and facility regulations related to food service and sanitation.
Monitor food quality, resident satisfaction, and kitchen safety standards.
Collaborate with the Registered Dietitian, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team to meet residents' nutritional needs.
Manage departmental budgets, food purchasing, inventory, and cost controls.
Maintain accurate records, documentation, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications:

Previous experience as a Food Service Director, Dietary Manager, or similar leadership role in a skilled nursing facility, rehabilitation center, or healthcare setting preferred.
Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) certification preferred or willingness to obtain, as required by state regulations.
Knowledge of long-term care dietary regulations, therapeutic diets, food safety, and sanitation standards.
Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to effectively manage staff while fostering a positive, resident-centered dining experience.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
