Cable Pipe & Leak Detection (CPL) is growing in East Tennessee and is seeking a motivated individual to become one of the first team members at our Morristown branch.
This is more than a field technician position—it's an opportunity to help build a successful operation from the ground up. As one of our first local employees, you'll work alongside Dave Belus, one of the most experienced leak detection professionals in the industry, learning a specialized trade while also helping support the day-to-day operations of a growing branch.

About the Position
Your primary responsibility will be performing professional leak detection services in the field. However, as part of a growing branch, you'll also assist with many of the operational tasks that keep the business running smoothly.
This is an ideal position for someone who enjoys wearing multiple hats and wants to grow into a leadership role as the office expands.
Field Responsibilities
Using specialized equipment and proven diagnostic methods, you will:

Locate hidden water leaks in residential and commercial plumbing systems

Detect slab leaks beneath concrete foundations

Locate underground water lines and utilities
-
Perform acoustic and tracer gas leak detection
-
Document findings and explain results to customers and contractors
-
Safely operate and maintain company vehicles and equipment
-
Represent CPL professionally in customers' homes and job sites
This is a diagnostic position only. We do not perform plumbing repairs or excavation work.
Branch Operations Responsibilities
As one of the first employees in our Tennessee office, you'll also help support daily branch operations, including:

Answering inbound customer phone calls
-
Making outbound calls to schedule and confirm appointments
-
Entering customer and job information into our scheduling software
-
Dispatching technicians and coordinating daily schedules
-
Printing work orders, reports, and customer documents
-
Filing paperwork and maintaining organized records
-
Assisting with inventory of tools, parts, and consumable supplies
-
Cleaning, maintaining, and performing basic repairs on equipment and vehicles
-
Helping prepare equipment for upcoming jobs
-
Supporting shipping and receiving of equipment and supplies
-
Assisting with office organization and general administrative duties
-
Helping identify ways to improve systems and processes as the branch grows

You'll receive structured training combining field experience, and hands-on mentoring from one of the industry's most experienced technicians.
Compensation

$19-$21/hour during apprenticeship

$20–$22/hour after completing training and milestones

Physical Requirements

Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions

Ability to enter crawl spaces and attics when necessary

Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 pounds

Ability to safely operate company vehicles

Ability to alternate between field work and office duties throughout the day
Requirements

Valid Tennessee driver's license

Clean driving record

Ability to pass a background check

High school diploma or equivalent

Willingness to work occasional overtime and participate in an on-call rotation

Basic computer skills and willingness to learn new software
