Full Job Description

Pulse Medical Transportation, a growing and progressive ambulance and wheelchair van transportation provider, currently has full-time, part-time, and on-call openings for the position of Critical Care Transport Nurse for our office in West Paterson, New Jersey. The Transport Nurse will be responsible for providing care to high-priority, high-acuity patients, transported via ambulance, between various origins and destinations.

Hiring full time office-36 hours a week with mandatory on call. Part time office 15-20 hours a week. On-call days, evenings, overnights and weekends

Must be able to respond to our office Woodland Park office within 20-30 minutes of call notification

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Respond to pre-scheduled, time-sensitive, and/or emergency transport calls in an efficient and professional manner.
Provide a high standard of patient care in both the emergent and non-emergent settings.
Determine the nature and extent of illness or injury and establishes priority for required care.
Render appropriate medical or trauma care to adults, children and infants based on assessment findings.
Constantly assess the patient en-route to the emergency facility, administer additional care as indicated or directed by medical control
Assists in lifting and carrying the patient out of the ambulance and into the receiving medical facility
Report verbally and in writing, their observation and emergency medical care of the patient at the emergency scene and in transit, to the receiving medical facility staff for purposes of records and diagnostics upon request provides assistance to the receiving medical facility staff.
Complete electronic patient care records in a timely and complete fashion.

Knowledge & Skills:

IV Certified
High proficiency in EKG interpretation and ventilator management
Experience with intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP) operation
Ability to provide immediate life support therapies including but not limited to parenteral administration of approved medications; intravenous/intraosseous therapies; EKG monitoring; arrhythmia interpretation; CPR; defibrillation; external cardiac pacing airway management; endotracheal intubation; ventilator operation; chest decompression; management of patients with altered neurological status; including cervical spine immobilization; application of splints and devices needed for transport.
Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision, using good judgment and common sense with a thorough understanding of the principles of emergency medical care.
Ability to work efficiently and interact in a constructive and professional manner with other internal and external healthcare providers
Maintain prompt and regular attendance.

Education/Licensing/Certification:

Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey (LPN not acceptable)
Current ACLS, BLS, & PALS
Current driver's license

Experience:

One (1) years of experience within a critical care (ICU/CCU or ER) environment
