Oregon | Skilled Nursing / Long-Term Care
Salary: $80,000–$90,000
Confidential Healthcare Nursing Center
Confidential Healthcare Nursing Center is seeking an accomplished Traveling Business Office Manager to provide financial and operational support to skilled nursing centers throughout Oregon.
This position is built for someone who knows the skilled nursing business office inside and out. You'll move between locations based on operational needs, stepping in to provide leadership, troubleshoot complex accounts, support Medicaid processes, improve collections, and help facility business offices operate effectively.
The ideal candidate doesn't need a lengthy introduction to SNF revenue cycle operations. You understand the challenges, know where to look when something isn't adding up, and can confidently work with facility teams to get accounts moving in the right direction.
Extensive experience with both Washington and Oregon Medicaid is strongly preferred.
Your assignments will vary depending on the needs of each location. One week may involve helping a facility navigate Medicaid-pending accounts, while another may require interim BOM coverage, A/R cleanup, staff training, or preparation for month-end.
Key responsibilities may include:
Provide temporary Business Office Manager coverage during vacancies, leaves, and operational transitions.
Review accounts receivable and identify opportunities to improve collections and resolve aging balances.
Work directly with residents, families, and responsible parties regarding outstanding financial obligations.
Manage collection efforts for both current residents and discharged accounts.
Assist with Medicaid applications and required supporting documentation.
Track Medicaid-pending accounts and proactively address barriers delaying eligibility or payment.
Communicate with applicable agencies and outside resources regarding Medicaid account resolution.
Support accurate and timely monthly billing and closing activities.
Review financial accounts for discrepancies and assist with reconciliation.
Maintain appropriate oversight of resident funds and trust accounting.
Ensure resident financial processes align with applicable regulatory requirements.
Assist facilities with audit requests and supporting financial documentation.
Provide training and practical guidance to new and existing Business Office staff.
Partner with facility and regional leadership to address revenue cycle concerns and improve business office processes.
We're looking for someone who can enter an unfamiliar building, quickly understand its business office needs, establish priorities, and work collaboratively toward solutions.
Qualified candidates should have:
2+ years of business office experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility or long-term care environment.
At least 1 year of Business Office Manager or comparable leadership experience within skilled nursing.
Strong experience with SNF billing and reimbursement.
Demonstrated knowledge of accounts receivable and collections.
Experience working with Medicaid applications, pending accounts, eligibility, and follow-up.
Knowledge of resident trust/funds management and applicable requirements.
Experience with month-end billing and financial reconciliation.
Strong analytical and account-research skills.
Ability to train and support facility-level Business Office staff.
Ability to manage priorities independently while working across multiple locations.
Willingness and ability to travel throughout Oregon as assignments require.
This position requires someone who is comfortable navigating Medicaid reimbursement within the Pacific Northwest.
Extensive experience working with both Oregon and Washington Medicaid is strongly preferred.
Candidates who have directly managed Medicaid applications, pending eligibility, documentation, follow-up, and reimbursement issues in both states will receive strong consideration.
Previous experience with PointClickCare (PCC) is preferred.
Experience with resident funds management systems or comparable trust-accounting platforms is also beneficial.
$80,000–$90,000 annually
Compensation within the posted range will be determined based on the selected candidate's relevant experience, Medicaid expertise, skilled nursing business office background, and other job-related qualifications.
If you've mastered the day-to-day responsibilities of running a skilled nursing business office and are ready for a position with more variety, this could be your next move.
As a Traveling Business Office Manager, you'll have the opportunity to use your experience across multiple locations, tackle different operational challenges, develop other business office professionals, and make an impact beyond a single facility.
Apply confidentially to learn more about the opportunity.
