Full Job Description

SUMMARY

Position available for either Lake Delton or Madison office locations.

Use Revit software to prepare detailed drawings of architectural designs and plans for buildings and structures in various industries according to specifications provided by architect. Has solid understanding of drafting techniques and familiarity with architectural terminology. Possesses mechanical aptitude with ability to complete basic mathematical calculations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential duties and responsibilities.
Uses computer assisted design/drafting software and equipment to develop designs and revise drawings.
Lays out and plan interior room arrangements for commercial buildings, using computer-assisted design/drafting equipment and software.
Assists architect with analysis of local building codes, site limitations, space requirements and specifications.
May coordinate with electrical, mechanical and structural sub consultants to decide on the best method for presenting plans.
Sets up and maintains an organized file system for drawings following company standards.
Maintains accurate design standards and procedures in assigned areas of work.
Under direct supervision, determines design criteria, drawing sequence and presentation. Performs routine technical duties and assists in development of projects.
Under close supervision, performs non‐routine assignments of substantial variety and complexity. May assist in calculations and development of project details. Uses independent judgment.

NONESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and DUTIES

Assembles hard copy plan sets for distribution.
All other related work, as assigned or as apparent.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential responsibility/duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, ability and attributes required to be success in the position. I. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Generally will have two-plus (3+) years of experience in Revit.
Preferred 3-5 years on-job experience as an architectural Designer / Architectural Technician.
Associate Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or six (6) months to one (1) year of relevant experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and training.
Bachelor Degree in Architecture preferred.

II. LICENSE(S) or CERTIFICATE(S)

None required.

III. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES and ATTRIBUTES

Proficiency in Revit.
Has fundamental design knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within the field including design platforms and software.
Knows and applies fundamental concepts, practices and procedures within the field including design platforms and software.
Able to work effectively both independently and as a team member with a client-centric and positive attitude.
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to prioritize and organize multiple tasks.
Ability to remain organized with multiple interruptions.
Excellent PC skills and a demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
Excellent problem-solving skills.
Ability to work between office hours of 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8:00 a.m. through 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Friday.

IV. PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Ability to communicate effectively in an active office environment.
Ability to efficiently operate all job-related office equipment (telephone, computer, calculator, fax and copier).
Ability to remain in a stationary position for 85% or more of a 9-hour workday.
Occasional overtime may be required.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

None required.
