Join Our Team!

DRT Transportation is looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our growing accounting team. If you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, thrive on accuracy, and want to be part of a company that values teamwork and continuous improvement, we'd love to hear from you.

In this role, you'll play a vital part in ensuring carriers and vendors are paid accurately and on time while supporting the financial operations that keep our business moving.

What You'll DoCarrier Payables

Process carrier invoices accurately and efficiently.
Verify rate confirmations, invoices, and supporting transportation documents.
Resolve payment discrepancies by partnering with Operations, Carrier Relations, and Accounting.
Maintain accurate carrier payment records within our Transportation Management System (TMS).
Ensure carrier payments are issued according to company schedules and policies.
Respond professionally to carrier payment inquiries.

Factoring Company Management

Serve as the primary point of contact for transportation factoring companies.
Maintain accurate factoring records.
Build and maintain strong relationships with factoring partners.

Accounts Payable

Process vendor invoices accurately and on time.
Review invoices for proper coding and approvals.
Prepare weekly accounts payable batches.
Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
Maintain organized electronic accounting records.

Additional Responsibilities

Assist with month-end closing activities.
Prepare reports and account reconciliations.
Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes.
Cross-train with other accounting team members.
Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.

QualificationsRequired

High school diploma or equivalent.
Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy.
High level of professionalism and confidentiality.

Preferred

Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
Two or more years of accounting, accounts payable, or bookkeeping experience.
Transportation or logistics industry experience.
Experience working with transportation factoring companies.
Experience with McLeod Software or another Transportation Management System (TMS).
Knowledge of freight billing, carrier settlements, bills of lading, rate confirmations, and proof of delivery.
Experience with ERP or accounting software.
Familiarity with ACH payments and electronic payment processing.
Experience working in a high-volume accounting environment.
