Full Job Description

Rapidly expanding medical billing company in Paulsboro, NJ is looking for a strong, full time team member to fill our billing and collections position. This person MUST have experience with EMR systems. Must be proficient in ICD-10, ICD-9 and CPT coding. Additional skills required include expertise in following up on outstanding A/R of all payers, self-pay and the resolution of denials. This position is responsible for handling all correspondence related to an insurance or patient account, contacting insurance carriers, patients and other facilities as needed to get maximum payment on accounts and identify issues or changes to achieve client profitability. Responsible for working EDI transactions and ERA files, including reconciling carrier submissions, edits and rejection reports. Ability to research and resolve accounts appearing on Delinquent Insurance Report and Collection as directed by management making appropriate decisions on accounts to be worked to maximize reimbursement.

The Billing Specialist will be responsible for:*
Entering new patient and payer data
Validating the service provided is documented correctly in EMR Coding and keying claims Submits accurate claims in a timely fashion Correcting claims Audits all claims billed on a daily basis Reports all errors made/claims corrected on a daily basis Makes notes in system pertaining to claim corrections, deletions and mailed/faxed claims Continually looking for errors in billing process and how to solve them Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements:
Must be familiar with different types of insurance carriers, CPT coding, ICD-10, EMR's Collaborate MD experience a plus Must have a good understanding of the UB-04 and HCFA 1500 form
