Location: Mount Pleasant, MI

Join Our Growing Team!

Malley Construction and Clark Modular Homes are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Accountant to oversee the financial operations of multiple companies within our growing organization. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and wants to play a key role in the financial success of a family-owned construction business.

Responsibilities

Manage accounting functions for multiple companies.
Maintain accurate general ledger and financial records.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements.
Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and loan accounts.
Manage job costing and project financial reporting.
Prepare payroll and payroll tax filings.
Coordinate with outside CPA on year-end financial statements and tax preparation.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax requirements.
Prepare and file sales tax and other required tax reports.
Monitor cash flow and assist with budgeting and forecasting.
Maintain fixed asset records.
Develop and improve accounting processes and internal controls.
Assist ownership with financial reporting and strategic planning.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
5+ years of accounting experience (construction accounting experience is a plus).
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
Experience with multi-company accounting.
Knowledge of payroll, sales tax, and business tax requirements.
Familiarity with construction job costing is highly preferred.
Experience working with CPAs during tax preparation and year-end closing.
Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks Desktop experience is required).
Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
