Full Job Description

Overview
Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Certified Nurse Midwife, where your expertise will empower women through their pregnancy journey and beyond! In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive care to expectant mothers, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment throughout labor, delivery, and postpartum.

Position is based at Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital in Charleston.

Position includes one 24-hr inpatient shift and 2 outpatient clinic days each week.

Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is a plus.

What you’ll do

Conduct thorough patient assessments and physical examinations to evaluate maternal and fetal health.
Provide prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care, including labor support and delivery assistance.
Administer medications and perform procedures such as suturing, IV insertion, and specimen collection/processing.
Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and ensure proper coding using CPT and ICD standards.
Monitor vital signs and manage pain effectively during labor while implementing care plans tailored to individual needs.
Educate patients on family planning options, breastfeeding techniques, and newborn care.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop discharge planning strategies for optimal patient outcomes.

PSLF- qualified

Basic qualifications

Current certification as a Nurse Midwife with relevant licensure.
Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and patient monitoring techniques.

Preferred qualifications

Experience in obstetrics/gynecology (Ob/Gyn) settings with hands-on labor & delivery experience.
Familiarity with acute care environments such as NICU or inpatient settings.
Demonstrated ability in venipuncture and administering injections.
