Shift: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm, every other Saturday 7:30am-3:30pm

Job Overview

Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Phlebotomist, where you will play a vital role in patient care by expertly collecting blood samples and ensuring accurate specimen handling. Your energetic and compassionate approach will help create a positive experience for patients of all ages, from pediatrics to geriatrics. This position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your laboratory procedures knowledge and patient service skills in a fast-paced, supportive environment. You will be responsible for performing venipuncture, capillary draws, and specimen processing while adhering to strict safety and aseptic techniques. Your dedication will directly contribute to accurate diagnostics and improved patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

Perform blood collection via venipuncture and capillary puncture with precision and care, ensuring patient comfort and safety
Follow established laboratory procedures and techniques for specimen collection, handling, and processing
Accurately document patient information, vital signs, and specimen details using EMR/EHR systems and data entry protocols
Maintain strict adherence to aseptic techniques to prevent contamination during specimen collection and handling
Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures clearly, addressing concerns, and demonstrating empathy across diverse populations including pediatrics and geriatrics
Handle specimens carefully during transportation, labeling, storage, and processing to ensure integrity for laboratory testing
Support laboratory staff with tasks such as preparing specimens for testing, maintaining equipment cleanliness, and managing inventory of supplies

Experience

Prior experience in medical laboratory work or clinical settings involving specimen collection is highly preferred
Demonstrated knowledge of laboratory procedures, techniques, and anatomy relevant to blood sampling and physiology
Hands-on experience with venipuncture (blood sampling), capillary puncture, and blood specimen handling in hospital or clinical environments
Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for data entry and patient record management
Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR is required to ensure readiness for emergency situations
Experience working with diverse patient populations including pediatrics and geriatrics enhances your ability to provide compassionate care
Physical ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary, along with standing or walking for extended periods during shifts
