Full Job Description

Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Medication Aide to join our team in providing exceptional care to our residents. The ideal candidate will have experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or hospitals and will be skilled in working with individuals with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer's, dementia, and other memory care needs. As a Medication Aide, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being of our residents through effective medication administration and patient care.

Responsibilities

Administer medications to residents according to prescribed schedules and protocols
Monitor residents for side effects and report any concerns to nursing staff
Maintain accurate medical documentation and records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Assist with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, mobility, and nutrition
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans
Conduct routine checks of vital signs and report changes in resident health status
Utilize EMR/EHR systems such as PCC for documentation and communication
Ensure a safe and clean environment for residents while adhering to infection control practices

Requirements

Previous experience in assisted living, nursing home, or hospital settings preferred
Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and caregiving practices
Familiarity with medication administration protocols and patient care standards
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations
Ability to demonstrate compassion, patience, and empathy while providing care
