We are a busy, warm, and active family of five in Pelham, NY looking for a trusted Household Manager / Family Assistant to become an integral part of our home. Our days are full of school schedules, activities, sports, and the everyday logistics that come with raising three children while both parents balance demanding careers. Our children are 10, 8, and 5 years old, and our household is full of the energy and movement that comes with a busy family schedule. We have created a home that is organized, welcoming, and values teamwork, kindness, and open communication. We value structure and consistency, but we also appreciate flexibility, positivity, and someone who can bring a calm presence to the natural rhythm of family life.
This role is a true partnership between childcare and household management. We are not looking for someone who simply completes a list of tasks; we are looking for someone who can step into our home, understand how things work, and proactively help make life easier. The right person will enjoy improving upon existing systems, staying connected to the details of both the household and the children's academics and schedules, preparing meals, managing logistics, and being a positive, reliable presence for our children. We already have a weekly cleaning service in place, so this role is not focused on deep cleaning. Instead, we are looking for someone who can support the daily resets and tidying that keep the home running smoothly, maintain organization throughout the week, and help ensure that the small details of family life do not fall through the cracks.
Our family also spends part of the summer at a second home on Long Island (just over an hour away from our primary residence in Pelham). We are looking for someone flexible who can help us maintain consistency throughout the year, whether that means occasional support at the second property or taking on larger organizational projects at our primary home while we are away. We value someone who can adapt as our needs shift throughout the year and who sees opportunities to make our home more functional, organized, and enjoyable.
Ultimately, we are looking for someone who feels comfortable becoming a trusted extension of our family over the long term: someone dependable, thoughtful, and invested in helping our household thrive. The right person will bring professionalism, warmth, and initiative to the role and will take pride in being a consistent, positive presence in our children's lives while also helping our home run smoothly.
You are someone who naturally takes ownership. You walk into a home and quickly understand what needs attention, what is coming up next, and where you can make life easier. You thrive when you can take ownership and bring your own thoughtful approach to the role. You are proactive, organized, and comfortable creating structure where needed, while also taking the time to learn the family's preferences and the rhythms that work best for the household. You take pride in noticing the details, following through on commitments, and ensuring things are handled completely and thoughtfully.
You think like a project manager. You enjoy looking ahead at the family calendar, anticipating upcoming needs, remembering the details, and making sure nothing gets missed. You enjoy improving systems, finding ways to make the household run more smoothly, and keeping track of the many moving pieces that come with family life. Whether it is preparing for a busy week of activities, staying connected to school communications and deadlines, noticing that household supplies need to be restocked, or helping create systems that keep the home organized, you are someone who naturally stays one step ahead.
You bring a warm and steady presence to the home, especially during busy after-school hours when children are transitioning from their day. You are patient, positive, and genuinely enjoy being around children. You understand the importance of being a trusted adult in a child's life: someone who offers encouragement, support, and consistency while helping children feel confident and cared for. You are invested in their academics, activities, and wellbeing, and you enjoy being the kind of person who shows up as a positive influence in their everyday lives. Experience managing multiple children and navigating the energy of a busy household is important, and you know how to remain calm and consistent even when the day gets hectic.
You are someone who enjoys cooking and takes pride in preparing thoughtful, healthy meals. You like bringing variety to meal planning and understand that preparing food is an important part of making family life easier. You communicate clearly and professionally, knowing when something needs to be shared, when to ask a question, and when to simply handle something independently. You are comfortable receiving feedback, adapting to a family's preferences, and building trust over time. Most importantly, you are reliable, thoughtful, and someone who genuinely enjoys helping a household function at its best. You take pride in the details, show up consistently, and understand the value of becoming a trusted partner in a family's everyday life.
