Full Job Description

We are looking for a knowledgeable and competent person to serve as Treasurer at Second Presbyterian Church, Newark, OH. This person will be responsible for providing essential financial services to the church. Completion of a drug screen and a criminal background check are required. Thank you for your interest.

Responsibilities of the position include:

-Review, balance, record and preserve financial records of the church

- Serve as treasurer, and prepare monthly financial reports, for the boards and committees of the church

-Sort, count, and post contributions

-Prepare and distribute expense payments

-Administer payroll

-Maintain records of trust and endowment accounts

-Assist in the development of yearly operating budget

-Assemble and prepare financial records for audit

-A team player with a commitment to good interpersonal relationships, teamwork, and support of church ministries.

- A highly organized person of high professional standards.

-An ability to recognize confidential situations and maintain the dignity and confidence of others.

Qualifications include:

-Associate’s degree in accounting or business is preferred

-Demonstrated record of experience in accounting and account management practice. Experience with non-profit organization is preferred.

-Proficiency in computer skills and related accounting software

-Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality regarding all accounting records of the church, staff, and congregation members.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.00 per hour
