Shift: Nights, 5x8hrs
Hours: 40 hrs/wk

Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift Ultrasound Technologist with at least 2 years of sonography experience and ARDMS or ARRT certification for a hospital-based general/vascular/OB ultrasound role.

Details

Hospital setting open 24/7/365 covering Radiology and Cardiology ultrasound needs
Patient population includes adult patients across Emergency Department, ICU, Obstetrics, and High Risk OB
Approximate patient ratio of 1:10
Performs general ultrasound, OB/GYN, vascular, small parts, and transplant studies
Procedures include paracentesis, thoracentesis, and ultrasound guided biopsy/fine needle aspiration
Utilizes Philips and Siemens ultrasound equipment along with PACS
Cerner charting experience preferred
Night shift schedule, 5x8 hours, Monday-Friday from 10:30 PM to 6:30 AM
On-call required 2 days per week and every other weekend, with a 30-minute response time
Performs exams in the department, surgery, emergency department, and patient floors

Requirements

Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Sonographer required
Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound/Sonography program
ARDMS or ARRT certification required, with ARDMS and ARRT-S preferred
Current BLS certification required
License required if applicable
Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level II experience preferred
Outpatient ultrasound experience will be considered
Must be able to stand, walk, bend, squat, twist, and occasionally lift, push, or pull up to 100 pounds with proper body mechanics
Must have strong communication, hearing, and visual acuity skills
Must be able to handle critical and highly stressful situations with composure

Additional Information

Responsible for providing quality diagnostic imaging to support patient care and assist radiologists with exams
Performs a wide range of ultrasound studies including abdominal, vascular, small parts, OB/GYN, and transplant imaging
May be required to complete facility-provided training modules prior to or during the first day of the assignment
Facility conducts its own drug screening upon arrival, including marijuana testing, with no exceptions for positive results
Candidates should avoid any substances, including CBD products, that could result in a positive drug screen
Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted for this position
Experienced travelers are highly preferred, though first-time travelers with relevant outpatient ultrasound experience may be considered
Flexible start date available for September or October
