FlexTrades is seeking a CNC VTL Machinist to set up and operate CNC Vertical Turret Lathes (VTLs). This role includes machine setup, tooling changes, offsets, blueprint reading, and quality inspections while machining large precision components. The ideal candidate has strong VTL experience, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Responsibilities
- Set up and operate large Vertical Turret Lathes (VTLs) with Fanuc controls.
- Machine large steel and stainless steel parts using turning, drilling, tapping, boring, and slotting operations.
- Make offsets and machine adjustments to maintain part quality.
- Change tooling and assist with setup verification.
- Read blueprints, setup sheets, and work instructions.
- Perform deburring using grinders, files, Scotch-Brite, and buffing tools.
- Conduct in-process inspections using measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.
- Follow quality requirements and document inspection results.
- Safely move parts and fixtures using overhead cranes and forklifts (training provided).
- Maintain a safe and organized work area.
Required Qualifications
- Experience setting up and operating VTL, VBM, or large CNC lathe equipment.
- Ability to make offsets and machine adjustments.
- Experience deburring with various hand and power tools.
- Ability to read blueprints and understand basic GD&T.
- Experience using precision measuring tools.
- Ability to work with large, heavy parts in a job shop environment.
- Experience machining stainless steel and carbon steel.
- Ability to work in a loud, dirty shop environment that may be hot or cold depending on the season.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Fanuc-controlled machines.
- Experience machining large forgings.
- Overhead crane and forklift experience.
- Experience in nuclear, heavy industrial, or similar manufacturing environments.
Pay and Benefits:
- Pay: $40/hour
- Guaranteed Overtime Each Week paid at time and a half
- Access to a full suite of benefits

- Paid lodging (Single-Occupancy Hotel Room)
- Per diem ($45/day)
