What You'll Do

As a content creator at Mad Genius, you will leverage your lens to generate video across various social platforms for numerous industries. Reels, TikToks, Shorts—you’ll shoot and edit them all. It’ll be up to you to script, shoot, edit, and export all your work. Speed is something you relish, and it’ll be your responsibility to ensure our clips are up to the latest social trends. You’ll bring fresh ideas to brainstorms, seek obscure hooks, and leverage new technologies (like AI) to streamline production. You will probably drink a lot of coffee. You likely already do.

What You'll Need

End-to-End Video Fluency: You are a true “preditor” (producer/editor) who can drag an idea from a chaotic napkin sketch, shoot it, chop it up, and deliver a pristine final export without a full production crew behind you.
Autonomous & Agile: You thrive on your private creative island, running with briefs without hand-holding, but maintain the professional polish to collaborate seamlessly with everyone.
Mastery of Rapid-Production Tools: You have expert-level speed in tools like CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, and mobile editing suites, allowing you to churn out high-quality Reels, TikToks, and Shorts at the speed of social.
A “Scroll-Stopping” Eye: You know the first 1.5 seconds are a brutal psychological battle for attention. You deploy aggressive visual hooks and typography to freeze zooming thumbs mid-scroll.
Platform-Native Strategy: You live on social media and instinctively know why jokes work on TikTok but bomb on LinkedIn. Native features and algorithms are in your DNA.
Trend Hunting & Adaptation: You have a sixth sense for spotting trends and memes before they go mainstream. You twist these moments into wins for clients.
Technical Resourcefulness: Whether you are handed a high-end camera or a cracked iPhone, you conquer your environment. You manipulate terrible fluorescent lighting and capture crisp audio anywhere.
Storytelling Under Pressure: You distill complex brand messages into tight, entertaining narratives between 15 and 60 seconds long that feel organic and engaging rather than “salesy.”

This position is for remote candidates on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
