Part-Time Staff Accountant

We are looking for a part-time Accountant to join our team in Muncie, Indiana. We are a public accounting firm looking to add additional staff to assist us with our growing client base. This position would be full-time hours during tax season, and flexible part-time hours after May 15, offering great work-life balance for the right person. Cardinal CPA Group specializes in tax, accounting and attestation services, and small business consulting for clients in a variety of industries.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

Preparation of individual and business federal, state and local tax returns.
Preparation of payroll tax returns, sales tax returns and property tax returns.
Assist with the preparation of work papers and checklists for attestation engagements.
Preparation of depreciation schedules including proper classification of assets under GAAP and federal income tax rules.
Preparation of bank reconciliations, accrual computations and account analysis.
Perform other essential duties as needed.

Core Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field from an accredited college or university.
CPA license or 150 hours towards the CPA license and demonstrated interest in becoming a CPA.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

Positive, professional attitude and strong teamwork skills.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Experience with Microsoft Excel.
Experience with QuickBooks.
Ability to work under time constraints.

Salary commensurate with experience.
