Niccum & Associates, CPA is a growing accounting firm dedicated to helping small and medium-sized businesses with their accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, and tax needs. We pride ourselves on our collaborative, team-oriented office where everyone works together to provide exceptional service to our clients.

We are seeking a Part-Time Staff Accountant / Bookkeeper to join our team. This is an in-office position offering a variety of accounting responsibilities and the opportunity to learn and grow within our firm. We're looking for someone who is detail-oriented, dependable, eager to learn, and enjoys working in a team environment.

This position is ideal for someone looking for a flexible part-time schedule, whether you're returning to the workforce, balancing family or other commitments, or looking to grow your career in accounting.

Schedule

Part-time position
Approximately 20–25 hours per week during the off-season
Approximately 25–30 hours per week during tax season
Hours may vary depending on the time of the month, workload, and business needs
We strive to provide flexibility with scheduling whenever possible

Responsibilities

Responsibilities will vary based on experience and may include:

Enter financial transactions into QuickBooks and other accounting software
Prepare bank and credit card reconciliations
Prepare or assist with the preparation of financial statements
Support accounting staff with day-to-day accounting and tax projects
Receive and process invoices and billing statements
Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable
Communicate with clients and vendors to ensure accurate and timely payments
Maintain organized financial records and files
Utilize Microsoft Excel and other software to analyze and maintain financial data
Perform general administrative and clerical duties as needed

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a strong interest in accounting and bookkeeping who is eager to learn and grow. While prior accounting experience is beneficial, we also welcome candidates with related education or transferable experience.

Preferred qualifications include:

Associate's degree or higher in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional or transferable experience
Experience in bookkeeping, accounting, payroll, banking, finance, office administration, or another role involving financial recordkeeping is preferred
Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software is a plus
Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and grow professionally. We believe in mentoring our team, and because accuracy is essential in accounting, constructive feedback is an important part of helping each team member succeed.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities while maintaining accuracy
Strong communication and customer service skills
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team

Compensation
