Job Description: Head Varsity Baseball Coach - YHS
Requirements: Experience as a high school baseball coach or higher preferred
Essential Qualifications:
o Be appropriate role model for student-athletes, parents, families, YCS staff, opponents, and community
o Work cooperatively and develop rapport with administration, teachers, coaching staff, players, parents and community
o Foster academic, athletic, and personal growth of student athletes
o Work with other coaches to facilitate multi-sport athletes
o Use sound proven methods of coaching and display knowledge and innovation of baseball
o Ability to instruct players on the techniques and strategies of baseball
o Establish and communicate the fundamental philosophy, skills and techniques to be taught by coaches at all levels of the program (K-12)
o Ambition to work with and foster youth baseball within the community
o Organize, plan, and schedule a regular baseball program in and out of season
o Organize and implement a summer developmental program for grades K-12
o Organize, plan, and schedule a youth camp for grades K-8
Salary: As per Master Contract

SUMMARY
Responsible for the athletic program during the season established by IHSAA or the middle school or elementary school guidelines or rules.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: The ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. The ability to write routine reports and correspondence. The ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of administrators, teachers, students, parents, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: The ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. The ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY: The ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. The ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: The ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory in specific field. The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, and the school community. The ability to speak clearly and concisely both in oral and written communication. The ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and YCS School Board policies.
