The Assembler operates a variety of tools, equipment, and processes to build products to defined specifications while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. This role combines hands-on assembly work with accurate documentation, problem-solving, and ongoing training, offering the opportunity to grow skills and advance within a clean, well-organized production environment.
Responsibilities

Operate assembly tools, equipment, and processes in accordance with provided work instructions and established procedures, and leverage experience to work with limited or no instructions when necessary.

Assist in creating or refining work instructions and process documentation when none are available or when improvements are identified.

Understand and adhere to standard work practices, including quality policies and customer specifications, to ensure products meet required standards.

Monitor personal work output for quality, identify deviations or issues, and communicate effectively with supervisors, escalating concerns when needed.

Maintain accurate timekeeping and labor tracking records, ensuring that hours and tasks are documented correctly.

Perform precise record keeping for inventory control, scrap, and quality records to support traceability and continuous improvement.

Complete all process documentation associated with assembly tasks in a timely and accurate manner.

Support improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing safety, cleanliness, product quality, and operational efficiency.

Participate actively in efforts to generate new and innovative solutions to complex problems within the work area.

Stay current on all required certifications and training for the role and complete assigned training on time.

Manage workload effectively, consistently completing assignments on schedule without compromising quality.

Train other team members on tasks and procedures when assigned, sharing knowledge and best practices.

Essential Skills

At least 2 years of assembly experience in a production or manufacturing environment.

Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools for assembly tasks.

Ability to read and interpret assembly diagrams, schematics, or blueprints to perform accurate builds.

Basic computer skills, including the ability to use computers for data entry, documentation, and accessing work instructions.

Strong attention to detail to ensure products meet quality and specification requirements.

Ability to adapt to change in tasks, processes, or priorities while maintaining performance and quality.

Self-motivation with the ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams.

Work Environment

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Buffalo Grove, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.25/hr.
