Full Job Description

Position Summary

TrueNorth Development is seeking an experienced Land Acquisition Professional to identify, evaluate, and pursue residential development opportunities throughout the Greater Nashville region.

The ideal candidate has access to a network of landowners, Real Estate brokers, engineers, attorneys, municipalities, and developers. This position is responsible for building a robust acquisition pipeline to support the company’s long-term growth objectives and managing the land acquisition process from initial sourcing through closing.

Key Responsibilities

● Identify and secure residential land opportunities throughout Middle Tennessee.

● Build and maintain relationships with landowners, brokers, municipalities, engineers, attorneys, and other industry professionals.

● Evaluate land for development potential, including zoning, utilities, site conditions, and financial feasibility.

● Present acquisition opportunities and recommendations to company leadership.

● Monitor local market trends, zoning activity, and competitive developments.

● Represent the company at industry events and networking opportunities.

Qualifications

● State of Tennessee Real Estate License (or in the process of obtaining one)

● Bachelor’s degree in real estate, Business, Finance, Planning, Civil Engineering or related field

● 2+ years of land acquisition or commercial real estate experience.

● Experience sourcing and closing residential land transactions.

● Understanding of zoning, entitlement, and residential development processes.

● Ability to evaluate development opportunities and perform basic financial analysis.

● Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.

● Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects independently.

● Proficient in Microsoft Excel and common real estate research tools.
