Full Job Description

About the Role

Join a regionally and nationally recognized civil defense litigation firm and become a valued member of our Medical Malpractice Defense team in our Franklin, TN office. We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Litigation Paralegal who is confident working with large volumes of medical records.

This is an opportunity to play a key role in managing complex cases through every stage of the litigation process. The ideal candidate is highly organized, thrives under deadlines, and takes pride in supporting attorneys and serving clients with precision and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and file pleadings in both federal and state courts, including the use of electronic filing systems.
Organize and manage case files, exhibits, discovery documents, and large volumes of medical records.
Summarizing deposition transcripts, medical records, and other critical documents in preparation for trial.
Conduct legal research and analyze data including statutes, decisions, and legal articles, codes, and documents.
Draft and issue non-party subpoenas.
Assist attorneys with all aspects of trial preparation, including creation of trial binders and exhibit organization.
Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all case-related documentation and ongoing communication with attorneys and court staff.
Manage attorney calendars and track key deadlines.
Schedule and coordinate meetings, hearings and depositions, including arranging court reporters and coordinating expert witnesses.

Required Skills:

Minimum of 3 years of paralegal experience in civil litigation
Experience reviewing and organizing medical records
Strong knowledge of court rules and filing procedures in state and federal courts
Proficiency in legal software tools (e.g., Lexis Nexis, Intapp or similar billing platforms, MS Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Skills:

Experience supporting medical malpractice defense litigation.
