Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, and service-driven Human Resources Generalist to join our team in Murray, Kentucky. This position supports all aspects of the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, performance management, training, and HR policy implementation.
The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment, exercises sound judgment, maintains strict confidentiality, and is committed to supporting both employees and organizational success. Experience in government contracting or a highly regulated industry is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle recruiting, including creating job postings, sourcing candidates, screening applicants, coordinating interviews, and extending offers.
- Coordinate and facilitate new hire onboarding and orientation.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records in the Human Resources Information System (HRIS).
- Administer employee benefits, answer employee questions, and assist with annual open enrollment.
- Support employee performance management and development initiatives.
- Interpret and communicate company policies, procedures, and employment practices.
- Provide guidance and support on employee relations matters while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Assist with EEO, affirmative action, and government contractor compliance requirements.
- Coordinate employee training programs and maintain training records.
- Partner with payroll to ensure accurate employee information and timekeeping records.
- Prepare HR reports, metrics, and documentation for leadership.
- Assist with HR projects and process improvement initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the Human Resources department and company objectives.
QualificationsRequired
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, and employee relations.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS software.
Preferred
- Experience supporting a government contractor, manufacturing, or industrial organization.
- Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), and government contractor compliance.
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification.
- Experience with payroll processing and benefits administration.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, if required.
- Minimum of 3 years of Human Resources Generalist experience.
