Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) – Cardiology

As our cardiology department continues to expand, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our growing team. This position may be filled by either a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) with experience or interest in cardiovascular medicine.
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled, compassionate, and patient-focused Advanced Practice Provider to provide comprehensive cardiovascular care in collaboration with our cardiologists and multidisciplinary healthcare team. The successful candidate will evaluate, diagnose, treat, and manage patients with a variety of acute and chronic cardiovascular conditions in both outpatient and inpatient settings as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive cardiovascular assessments, including patient history, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations.
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic cardiovascular conditions, including hypertension, coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, peripheral vascular disease, and other cardiac disorders.
- Order, interpret, and review laboratory studies, diagnostic imaging, stress tests, echocardiograms, and other cardiovascular diagnostic procedures.
- Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with California regulations and clinical protocols.
- Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians and cardiologists.
- Provide patient and family education regarding cardiovascular disease prevention, treatment options, medication management, and lifestyle modifications.
- Assist with and/or participate in invasive and non-invasive cardiovascular procedures as appropriate.
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans based on clinical response and outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, medical assistants, and administrative staff to ensure continuity of care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support organizational goals related to patient care and outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and organizational healthcare regulations and standards.
QualificationsNurse Practitioner (NP)
Education
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from an accredited program.
Licensure & Certification
- Current, unrestricted California Nurse Practitioner license.
- National certification through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).
- DEA registration and furnishing number (or ability to obtain).
Experience
- Prior experience in cardiology, internal medicine, critical care, hospital medicine, or cardiothoracic surgery preferred.
Physician Assistant (PA)
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program with a Master's degree or equivalent.
Licensure & Certification
- Current, unrestricted California Physician Assistant license.
- National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) certification.
- DEA registration (or ability to obtain).
Experience
- Prior experience in cardiology, internal medicine, cardiovascular surgery, critical care, or hospital-based medicine preferred.

Pay: $116,952.40 - $140,845.89 per year
