Full Job Description

Wakeco, Inc is a growing Commercial General Contractor located in the Temecula Valley area in need of a detail-oriented and organized Construction Project Accountant to join our team.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Project setup in Sage 100 software: Budgets and owner contracts, (Customer info, retention, payment terms, billing requirements, verifying contract type…)
File/track preliminary notices
Maintain project-related records- Project billing files, Subcontractors and vendors
Route for approval subcontract invoices related to a project and all overhead expenses via Procore ERP and HH2 software.
Respond to requests for more detail from subcontractors.
Collect and maintain all project monthly Unconditional & Conditional lien releases for Suppliers and Subcontractors and maintain tracker.
Review all Subcontractor invoices prior to payment to ensure all paperwork has been received, work with Labor Compliance coordinator for clearance on prevailing wage jobs. Verify Subs have current insurance certificates on file.
Create all credit card expenses with back up for review and approval
Enter approved credit Card expenses in a timely manner/HH2 Software
Create and process approved project-related billings to Owners.
Investigate all project expenses not billed to Owners.
Oversee collections on all project billings and maintains billing per contract.
Handle new vendor application and set up, request and post W-9 forms
Close out project accounts upon project completion and archive
Track and oversee all project Notice of Completion timelines to protect lien rights.
Compile information for internal and external auditors, as required.

Experience/Requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar role within the construction industry is required- 3 years or more.
- Proficiency in using construction software Sage 100 Contractor ,Procore (ERP) and HH2 preferred.

-Strong computer skills including MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Knowledge of general ledger accounting principles
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy in data entry and record keeping

- Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet monthly accounting deadlines

- Strong work ethic with the ability to be a team play and have a positive attitude

- Self-starter, able to work independently with little supervision. Excellent written and verbal communication.
