Job Title: Manager of Grants & Corporate Relations
Status: Exempt, Full-time, 12-month work schedule
Wage Grade: 735S
Reports To: Director of Grants Management
Overview: This position will be responsible for fundraising through grant writing and other corporate and foundation activities for Augustana College (75%) and WVIK Quad Cities NPR (25%). They will reside in the Office of Advancement. Advancement staff works with alumni, parents, friends, corporations and
foundations to engage them in the mission of the college and encourage philanthropy that advances the goals of Augustana's strategic plan. The manager of grants and corporate relations writes and coordinates grants and proposals to corporations and foundations with guidance from the Director of Grants Management and Vice President for College Advancement in support of Presidential priorities, capital projects, and academic priorities of the Provost. The manager will also conduct and participate in similar activities in support of WVIK.
Job Duties:
- Collect content, write, edit, and/or support submission of annual grant proposals to corporations, foundations and government funding sources on a variety of topics ($1,000 - $1 million) for Augustana and WVIK
- Maintain an operational calendar of submissions and reports
- Write and compile grant reports
- Work with faculty, staff, and administrators across campus to gather and interpret information
- for grant proposals and reports
- Work with the Business Office to discuss and resolve questions pertaining to grant funds and budgets
- Research local and national trends in corporate and foundation philanthropy, higher education, and public radio, and maintain a broad and deep knowledge of specific campus programs and projects
- Identify new funding opportunities that match college and WVIK fundraising priorities
- Handle and discuss confidential information appropriately
- Participate in and support the overall efforts of the Advancement office by assisting with projects and events as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Skills & Experience:
- 1-3 years of demonstrated grant writing, professional writing or related experience
- Strong writing, editing, project management, and organizational skills
- Succeeds at planning and managing multiple projects with deadlines under limited supervision
- Proven computer skills with intermediate to advanced knowledge of Google Suite, Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to understand program and project content in academic and student life, and public radio
- Capable of communicating effectively with a diverse group of grantors, faculty and colleagues
- Thrives in a team project environment that adheres to specific deadline driven tasks and goals
- Succeeds at handling confidential information appropriately
- Commitment to the mission of Augustana College and WVIK Quad Cities NPR
Additional Duties:
- Annually review processes and procedures for efficiency and improved outcomes
- Work collaboratively with other members of the Office of Advancement, WVIK, and other campus offices, on fundraising and engagement projects as appropriate
Education: Bachelor’s degree required.

Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Must be able to sit for long periods of time. Also required is the ability to listen, hear, speak, read and write. Must be able to use a computer to accomplish a variety of job tasks.
Expected hours of work: This is a full-time position with a 40-hour work week. Standard days and hours of work are Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. through 4:30pm. Must be available during key Advancement Office events: A Day of Giving, Giving Tuesday, Homecoming, Parents’ Weekend.
Travel: This position has little to no travel requirements.
