Project Manager - Restoration Sales

About Us

Excel Restoration is a leading restoration and disaster-recovery company specializing in water mitigation, fire damage restoration, mold remediation, and full reconstruction. We’ve built a strong reputation on quality work, fast response, and taking care of people on what is often one of the worst days of their lives. Most of our work comes through warm referrals from partners who already trust us — so you’re not cold-calling. You’re showing up for people who are expecting help.

Position Overview

As a Project Manager, you are the first person our customers meet after a water, fire, or mold loss — and you set the tone for everything that follows. Your job is to walk into a stressful, often chaotic situation, earn the homeowner’s trust, expertly assess and explain the damage, and convert that moment into a restoration job. This is a sales-focused, customer-facing, commission-driven role built for high performers. You’ll work alongside our field crews, but you are not a technician — you are the person who connects, leads, and closes.

Here’s the part that matters most: we are not looking for restoration experience — we’re looking for a great salesperson. If you can build trust fast, read people, and guide someone to a confident “yes” without ever being pushy — the way the best car salespeople, HVAC and plumbing reps, or personal trainers do — we will teach you everything about water, fire, and mold. The trade is learnable. The ability to connect and close is not.

What You’ll Do

Respond quickly to warm damage leads and conduct empathetic, professional on-site assessments.
Take control of a stressful scene — calm the homeowner, listen to their real concerns, and make them feel taken care of.
Educate the customer on the scope of damage and confidently present our recommended mitigation services.
Earn the customer’s authorization and convert the opportunity into a job — closing with confidence and consideration, never pressure.
Document findings in our software system (Xcelerate), including moisture readings, photos, and job notes.
Coordinate with Dispatch and Technicians for a smooth handoff, and maintain communication with customers, insurance adjusters, and the team throughout the life of the job.

Backgrounds We Love (restoration experience NOT required)

Automotive / car sales
HVAC, plumbing, roofing, or other in-home sales
Fitness, personal training, or membership sales
Any consultative, relationship-driven role where you earned the sale yourself

Qualifications

1–3 years of sales experience — in any industry where you built trust and closed — preferred.
Ability to build trust fast in high-stress situations; excellent communication skills.
Comfortable using technology and mobile apps for documentation and communication.
High school diploma or equivalent required; IICRC (cleaning and restoration) certifications are a plus — we’ll help you earn them.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Able to lift/move 50–75 lbs and occasionally work in confined or moisture-damaged environments.
Available for on-call / emergency rotation.

Compensation & Schedule

Competitive weekly base plus uncapped commission — a genuine high-reward opportunity for strong closers. Full-time with on-call/emergency rotation.
