Job Title: CNC Technician
Shift: 3rd
Job Summary
Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the CNC Technician will set up and operate CNC machines or machining centers to perform various machine functions, such as cutting, drilling, milling, reaming, boring, and broaching of metallic and nonmetallic workpieces. This role ensures CNC equipment operates efficiently, safely, and within quality standards, while providing technical expertise to operators and leadership.
Responsibility
Verifies that fixture setup meets acceptable quality standards regarding milling and boring sizes, depths, angles, or other specifications.
Mounts, aligns, and secures tooling, attachments, and workpieces on machines.
Assembles cutting tools in toolholders and positions toolholders in machine magazines.
Conducts prove-outs and selects correct programming during setups and changeovers as needed.
Starts machine and monitors displays and machine operation to detect malfunctions.
Stops machine to change cutting tools and setup according to required machining sequence or to measure parts for conformance to blueprint specifications.
Discuss errors with supervisor or programming personnel to resolve problems.
Performs machine maintenance.
Ability to lead one or more operators in a machining cell on two or more product lines.
Perform other related duties as assigned and as necessary.
Academic/Educational Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent. technical degree or certification in machining or CNC programming preferred.

Three years of experience in a CNC environment.
Required Skills/Experience
Proven experience as a CNC Programmer/Operator or similar role
Proficiency in CNC programming languages (e.g., G-code, M-code) and nesting software
Ability to operate forklift and overhead crane (training will be provided)
Ability to interpret drawings to generate programs that provide the part dimensions desired.
Basic knowledge of hydraulic, lubrication and mechanical equipment.
Proficient understanding of CMM reports, gage readings, and able to use CMM reports and gages.
