Full Job Description

Port City Pediatrics is seeking a Medical Assistant who will work for the practice as a clinical team member in a position that is titled "Floor Staff." This position works directly with patients and physicians, is full-time Monday-Friday, and includes benefits (please note health insurance coverage is only for employee and is not extended to family).

Responsibilities/Job Summary

Prepares patients for examination.
Gathers necessary data including vital signs, and medication status.
Collects and performs any necessary laboratory work.
Records data in Epic EMR.
Assists physician with examinations and procedures as needed.
Completes routine lab slips as indicated by physician.
Maintains general appearance of workstations, cleanliness of examination rooms, laboratory, and patient restrooms.
Prepares and replenishes supplies and inventory.
Disposes contaminated and disposable items safely.
Records storage temperatures.
Performs hearing and vision screenings.
Performs immunizations.
Always maintains confidentiality of all Personal Health Information & HIPPA.
Is safety compliant.
Rotates late night/closing shift and performs late night duties as scheduled.
Performs other tasks as required by the Office Manager, Clinical Manager or Physician.

Qualifications:

MUST have a completed a Medical Assisting program through an accredited school with active certification or registration (CMA/RMA).
Possess excellent and accurate written and oral communication skills.
Proficient in computer and EHR software programs (preferably Epic).
Excels in a team setting.
Excellent attendance and punctuality.
Ideal candidates will have a track record of remaining with employers long enough to make a measurable impact, rather than a pattern of frequent short-term positions.
Understand how to provide superior service to our patients while maintaining HIPPA compliance, and follows safety procedures.

Hourly rate based on work experience. A comprehensive benefit package is available along with paid time off.
