The Driver Instructor role will be key in the full cycle training and development of student, trainee & CDL truck drivers.
PAY & SHIFT DETAILS
- Job Shift: Monday-Friday, Required Saturday morning rotation
- Pay: $26-$29 per hour
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Training, development, and retraining of cadet’s and CDL truck drivers.
- Establish and communicate clear learning objective to cadet’s and CDL truck drivers for all learning and training/retraining activities.
- Assess training and retraining gaps of current cadet’s and CDL truck drivers.
- Understand and train basic roadside maintenance and company procedures.
- Teach hands-on portion of truck driving finishing program and retraining program; including but not limited to backing, shifting, truck inspections and behind the wheel training.
- Observe and evaluate cadet’s and CLD trick driver performance and development including road tests.
- Uphold all training requirements per company policy, laws, and regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED
Experience:
- Minimum 3-years Class A CDL driving experience, required
- Previous driver trainer experience, preferred
Computer Skills:
- Microsoft Office Suite; preferred
- AS400; a plus
- Geotab; a plus
- Eleos; a plus
- ELD; a plus
- Electronic onboarding; preferred
- Ability to learn and use propriety software: WEL app; a plus
Certifications & Licenses:
- Interstate CDL; required
- WIC
- OSHA

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Combination of outside in uncontrolled weather environment, in-cab of truck, and an office environment in a controlled atmosphere building.
