Full Job Description

Job Overview
We are seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Financial Controller to take ownership of financial operations across a growing portfolio of real estate, hospitality, and commercial entities based in the Grand Strand area. This role is central to maintaining clean books, producing accurate reporting, and supporting ownership in making fast, informed decisions. The right candidate is comfortable working directly with raw data, managing a small office team, and keeping multiple entities organized and compliant.

Responsibilities

Oversee all day-to-day accounting functions across multiple LLCs, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing.
Own QuickBooks across all entities — maintaining the chart of accounts, managing class/location tracking, cleaning up miscoded entries, and ensuring each entity's books are audit-ready at all times. Experience with multi-entity QuickBooks environments is essential, as this role will manage separate company files for 10+ LLCs simultaneously.
Prepare accurate monthly financial statements, owner reports, and cash flow summaries for each entity.
Perform balance sheet reconciliations and account analysis monthly, with zero tolerance for unreconciled items carrying forward.
Manage cash flow forecasting and banking relationships across multiple accounts (currently Anderson Brothers Bank, Capital One, Chase, and American Express).
Implement and maintain internal controls, approval workflows, and expense policies across entities.
Coordinate with external CPA for year-end tax preparation and support any audits or regulatory reporting.
Lead budgeting, variance analysis, and financial forecasting across hospitality, residential, and commercial properties.
Supervise and direct office accounting staff (AP/bookkeeping, reconciliation) and serve as the primary point of escalation for financial questions.
Reconcile PMS revenue (Cloudbeds) and property management data (AppFolio) against bank deposits and P&L on a monthly basis.
