POSITION SUMMARY
Marina Inn at Grande Dunes, a AAA Four Diamond luxury resort, is seeking an experienced and motivated Engineering Supervisor to assist the Chief Engineer in overseeing the daily operations of the Engineering Department. This position is responsible for supervising engineering staff, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all building systems, maintaining the property's high standards of appearance and functionality, and delivering an exceptional guest experience.
The Engineering Supervisor leads by example, promotes preventative maintenance, responds promptly to maintenance requests, and ensures all work is completed in accordance with company standards, safety regulations, and Four Diamond service expectations.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist the Chief Engineer in the daily operation and supervision of the Engineering Department.
- Supervise, schedule, train, coach, and evaluate engineering technicians.
- Assign daily work orders and monitor completion for quality, accuracy, and timeliness.
- Ensure all guest rooms, public areas, meeting spaces, restaurants, pools, and back-of-house areas are maintained to Four Diamond standards.
- Respond quickly and professionally to guest maintenance requests while providing exceptional customer service.
- Perform routine inspections of hotel facilities and equipment to identify maintenance needs.
- Assist in implementing and monitoring preventive maintenance programs for all building systems and guest rooms.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical, plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, mechanical, carpentry, painting, and general maintenance issues.
- Monitor operation of boilers, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, generators, elevators, fire alarm systems, and other mechanical equipment.
- Ensure compliance with all OSHA, EPA, local, state, and federal safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, inspection reports, and work order documentation.
- Assist in inventory control of engineering supplies, tools, and replacement parts.
- Coordinate with outside contractors and vendors as directed by the Chief Engineer.
- Participate in emergency response procedures including severe weather, fire alarms, power outages, flooding, and other property emergencies.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Support other departments with maintenance projects as operational needs require.
- Serve as acting department leader during the Chief Engineer's absence.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Technical or vocational training in building maintenance, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of hotel engineering or commercial building maintenance experience.
- Previous supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical systems, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) is preferred.
- EPA Certification, HVAC Certification, or other trade certifications are preferred.
- Valid driver's license preferred.

JOB SETTING AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and lift equipment.
- Lift and carry up to 75 pounds regularly.
- Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to work in mechanical rooms, rooftops, crawl spaces, and confined areas.
- Ability to respond to emergencies at any time during scheduled shifts.
WORK SCHEDULE
This position requires a flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and participation in an on-call rotation as required to support a 24-hour hotel operation.
