Coastal Carolina University is currently accepting applications for the following full-time position: Multimedia Graphic Designer in the Office of University Marketing and Communication.
The Multimedia Graphic Designer will design a wide variety of print and digital materials that effectively communicate and promote the Coastal Carolina University brand to internal and external audiences. This position supports the university’s visual communications strategy, ensuring all assets align with established brand standards while incorporating current trends and best practices in design.

Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and at least (3) years of experience in a graphic design-related role.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Fine Arts in graphic design, visual arts or visual communication and experience in a graphic design-related field.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Creates compelling and original designs to meet the print and digital needs of the university, incorporating graphic design best practices and industry standards. This person must use logic, strategy, and creativity to turn complex information into engaging designs that produce the desired outcomes. This includes materials such as magazines, brochures, flyers, postcards, print and digital advertisements/graphics, and environmental graphics.
- Leads the process of conceptual development, planning, and implementation of various graphic design strategies for complex marketing projects and campaigns, ensuring designs meet strategic communication goals and maintain consistency with brand guidelines.
- Collaborates with colleagues to manage projects from initiation through completion-collaborating on timelines, ensuring consistent communication, tracking progress, and delivering final products that align with creative brief and strategic goals.
- Serve as a role model to designer colleagues, providing guidance and informal mentorship as needed. Proactively introduce innovative design methods and techniques by conducting market research, sharing ideas, insights, and resources with the team to enhance the creativity and individuality of the university’s brand.
- Assists Creative Lead in developing, implementing, and upholding brand standards for the university. Monitors and advises on consistent deployment of visual branding across communication platforms.
Visual Media Designer II (BC24/61122755/FTE-S01170P), full-time position with benefits. SC State Pay Grade: GEN07. Salary range: $39,300.00 (minimum) – $53,100.00 (midpoint). Normal work hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Friday 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Occasional travel, occasional nights and/or weekends. Must be flexible to meet the special scheduling needs of the university.
