Position Summary
Serve as a point of contact for new and existing patients to facilitate patient flow and customer service at the Karlfeldt Center. The advocate will interact with the patients in a kind, compassionate, professional, and timely manner. The advocate works to identify care problems, address direct patient inquiries or complaints, assist in explaining financial and policy information, and serves as a liaison to facilitate and support the other healthcare professionals in the office to achieve a positive experience for the patients we serve.
Responsibilities and Duties
To accomplish this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform, with or without reasonable supervision, each essential function satisfactorily.
- Ensure proper documentation for all oncology clients entering care, during treatment, and all post treatment follow ups.
- Conduct Interim and Post treatment follow-up calls or interviews
- Maintain and update tracking and documentation patients for professional staff meetings and data collection
- Develop and maintain a positive patient/family relationship to advocate and assist the management of the patient’s treatment
- Treats patients with highest respect in all functions of job and maintains patient confidentiality
- Perform data entry tasks in all appropriate and pertinent systems
- Demonstrate capable use of Microsoft Word or other word processing programs and ability to be trained on other software programs such as Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, QuickBooks
- Attend periodic training sessions and meetings pertinent to position
- Maintain excellent communication and effective working relationships with patients, providers, clinical team members for continuity of high-quality patient care

Education and Experience
-High school diploma or equivalent required
-Associate degree or higher preferred
-Previous experience preferred
-Knowledge of Naturopathic Medicine preferred

Physical Demands
-Frequent sitting, writing, typing, grasping and speaking
-Occasional standing, walking, reaching, bending, stooping, lifting and carrying
-Lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds
-Frequent use of computer, keyboard, copy and fax machine and phone
