Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Civil 3D Drafter to support civil engineering and land development projects in the Napa area. The ideal candidate will use Autodesk Civil 3D to produce accurate construction drawings, grading plans, utility layouts, and site development plans for residential, commercial, and public works projects.
This role works closely with engineers, project managers, and survey teams to translate design concepts into clear, constructible technical drawings.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare civil engineering drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Develop site plans, grading plans, road alignments, and utility layouts
- Process and interpret survey data, including points, surfaces, and contours
- Assist engineers with preliminary and final design plans
- Ensure drawings comply with local Napa County and California design standards
- Revise plans based on engineer and client feedback
- Maintain drawing standards, layers, and file organization
- Coordinate with surveyors and project teams to resolve design issues
- Support permit submittals and construction document packages
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience with Civil 3D drafting (preferred in civil or land development)
- Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D and AutoCAD
- Understanding of civil engineering fundamentals (grading, drainage, utilities, roads)
- Ability to read and interpret engineering plans and survey data
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Familiarity with California or local municipal standards is a plus
- High school diploma required; associate degree in drafting, CAD, or related field preferred
Preferred Skills
- Experience with land development projects
- Knowledge of surface modeling and corridor design
- Familiarity with permitting processes in Napa County or similar jurisdictions
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Pay: $72,800.00 - $95,000.00 per year
