Justin-Siena is a co-educational independent Catholic high school sponsored by the De La Salle Christian Brothers. We serve more than 670 students from Napa, Solano, and Sonoma Counties. Our 40-acre campus is home to a college preparatory curriculum, a competitive interscholastic athletic program, a highly regarded performing arts program, and an array of co-curricular opportunities.
Position Summary
Learning Lab Support Associate supports the Learning Lab Instructor in providing academic support and mentorship to students while upholding Justin-Siena's Lasallian values. This position helps maintain an orderly, learning-conducive environment in the Gasser Center, supervises students in the Learning Lab and mandatory study hall, assists with facilitating individual and small-group learning sessions, and coordinates assessment make-ups with faculty. The position requires strong organizational skills, positive student engagement, and commitment to supporting student academic success through structured, accountable learning environments.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties

Serves as an active and engaging mentor to all students in Learning Lab and mandatory study hall

Supports the academic progress and provides structure and accountability for all students in Learning Lab and mandatory study hall

Collaborates effectively with administration, faculty, staff, students, and families, as needed

Monitors student learning and achievement

Ability to understand individual student and group needs to respond and orchestrate individual and group learning study sessions based on student needs

Under the advisement of the Assistant Principal and Principal, support students that are in mandatory study hall and/or are on academic contracts as needed

Facilitate discussions between students in mandatory study hall and teachers based on student need while encouraging student self advocacy
Additional Duties

Circulates frequently throughout the learning environment to check how students are doing, to ensure they are on task, and to see if they need assistance

Communicates responsively with teachers, counselors, advisors, and parents who have academic concerns about students; implements strategies to facilitate student academic improvement

Administers and monitors make up tests to students in Learning Lab, per teachers’ requests

Effectively manages student behavior to support an environment for effective learning

Assists with the coordination of make-up assessments between teachers and students
Performance will be measured by

Complete, thorough and successful completion of assigned tasks by deadlines established

Classroom visits and formal observations by Assistant Principal and Principal

Proactive and consistent communication to necessary parties including internal staff, parents, students, coaches, volunteers, and other constituencies’

A bachelor’s degree preferred

Position Reports to: Principal and Assistant Principal
Position hours: Non-Exempt 20-30 hours per week - 10 Month Employee
Compensation: $20 - $26/hr depending on experience
