Full Job Description

Optometric Technician Wanted

We are looking for a friendly, outgoing person with a medical technician background to help in our optometry offices. Applicant must have strong communication skills in both English and Spanish and be proficient using computers. Duties include but are not limited to:

Assist doctor with patient care; facilitate patient flow with excellent communication in order to provide an exceptional patient experience
Prepare exam room for patient
Patient history
Pre-and Post-testing: (as directed by doctors)
Ancillary testing: Blood Pressure, Visual Fields, Tonometry, Autorefractor, Color Test, Fundus photography, Pachymetry, OCT, Optos
Assist doctor and technician as needed
Escort patients to dispensary / front desk
Educate patients regarding conditions and treatments
Proficient in the use of practice software and electronic health records
Perform all functions in optical dispensary including assisting patients with frame styling, advising patients about lens options, fitting eyewear to patients, performing minor repairs when necessary
Process spectacle and contact lens orders, and associated insurance claims
Check in spectacle orders and verify prescriptions. Call and/or email patients when their order arrives, ensuring highly satisfied patients and efficient office production.
Assist with front desk duties: answering phone calls, managing patient files, greeting patients, scheduling appointments).
