Summary:
The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing winery production equipment and facility systems to support safe and efficient operations. This role focuses primarily on equipment used in cellar and wine production processes, including pumps, filtration systems, tanks, hoses, and related mechanical systems. Under minimal supervision, the Maintenance Mechanic performs a wide range of mechanical and electrical maintenance tasks and helps ensure equipment reliability and operational efficiency.

Classification: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
You Will:
- Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain winery production equipment including pumps, filtration systems, tanks, hoses, valves, and related mechanical systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance on winery equipment and maintain accurate maintenance records.
- Utilize computer systems to document maintenance activities, track work orders, and support parts and inventory organization.
- Assist with installation, modification, and improvement of winery equipment and systems.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues and perform timely repairs to minimize production downtime.
- Maintain and rebuild winery pumps and related equipment as needed.
- Support maintenance and repair of facility systems including compressors, and other utility equipment.
- Report parts used and needed for reorder; assist with coordination and organization of spare parts inventory.
- Follow established maintenance procedures and assist with development or updates to maintenance SOPs.
- Ensure compliance with company safety policies and all applicable OSHA and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with general maintenance as needed.
- Communicate effectively with cellar staff, production teams, supervisors, and management regarding maintenance needs and equipment status.
- Other duties as assigned.
You Have:
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills in an industrial or production environment.
- Experience working with winery or food/beverage production equipment such as pumps, filtration systems, tanks, and process piping preferred.
- Knowledge of basic industrial electricity including 110V, 220V, and 480V three-phase systems.
- Experience with compressors, air dryers, boiler systems, and PLC-controlled equipment preferred.
- Welding experience preferred, including stainless steel and aluminum.
- Basic computer skills required to document maintenance work and support organization of parts and inventory.
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities with minimal supervision.
- Forklift experience preferred; must be able to obtain forklift certification.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English; Spanish language skills are a plus.
- Commitment to following and enforcing all safety policies and procedures.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb ladders or stairs, push, pull, reach, grasp, and lift.
- The employee may occasionally lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to work in varying conditions, including hot, cold, damp, or wet environments typical of winery production areas.
- Must be able to hear, see, and communicate effectively in order to perform maintenance safely and efficiently.
- Work may include evenings, holidays, or extended hours during harvest or as operational needs require.
- Regular work around moving mechanical equipment and production areas.
- Noise levels may range from moderate to loud; appropriate PPE is required.

Please note it is not typical for a new hire to be offered compensation at or near the top of that range. The final salary offered will depend on several factors, such as the candidate’s qualifications, education, and experience. It will also take into account internal equity as well as alignment with current market data.
