Job Overview
Located in the western suburbs of Chicago, we are manufacturer of cabinetry and architectural millwork seeking an experienced Carpenter/Cabinetmaker/Benchman. The successful candidate must have 3-5 years of experience with laminating, adhesives, jigs & patterns, bench assembly, as well as automated and hand operated woodworking equipment. Must be able to cut, glue, seam & join both wood and laminate. Experience with solid surfaces and finishing hardwoods is a plus. Ability to read blueprints and shop drawings is must. Pay is based upon capabilities and experience.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute cabinet and carpentry projects.
- Measure, cut, assemble, and install custom cabinets, fixtures, doors, siding, and other woodwork using hand tools and power tools.
- Perform framing, metal stud framing, drywall installation, and finishing tasks as needed for remodeling or restoration projects.
- Conduct construction estimating to determine material needs, costs, and project timelines.
- Execute trim carpentry including caulking, plastering, molding installation, and finishing touches to ensure a polished appearance.
- Handle heavy lifting safely while installing cabinetry or structural components on construction sites.
- Collaborate with team members on fabrication tasks such as CNC machining or metal rebar installation for specialized projects.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in carpentry with a strong background in construction site work and restoration industry projects.
- Proficiency in blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and schematic-based fabrication processes.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools (saws, chisels, hammers), power tools (drills, sanders), and specialized equipment such as CNC machines.
- Knowledge of construction estimating, flooring installation, tile laying, roofing, masonry, plumbing, electrical experience is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently while maintaining high standards of craftsmanship.
- Experience with water damage restoration, mold remediation, or water damage repair is a plus.

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 – 55.0 per week
