We're not looking for someone to just work a station. We're looking for cooks who want to become exceptional.

The Purple Pig Oak Brook is building a kitchen dedicated to craftsmanship, curiosity, and continuous improvement. Under new leadership, we're assembling a team of professionals who care deeply about ingredients, technique, and executing great food every service.

What Makes Our Kitchen Different

Every day you'll work with techniques and ingredients that most restaurants simply don't offer.

Fresh handmade pasta made in-house
Charcoal and live-fire cooking
Whole-animal butchery and fabrication
House-made charcuterie
Fresh breads and pastry
Fermentation and preservation
Scratch sauces, stocks, and desserts
Seasonal menus that continue to evolve

This is a kitchen where you'll continue learning—not repeating the same menu every day.

Responsibilities

Execute dishes with consistency, urgency, and attention to detail
Prepare ingredients from scratch using established recipes and techniques
Set up, maintain, and clean your station to professional standards
Complete prep lists accurately and efficiently
Maintain food safety, organization, and sanitation throughout your shift
Practice proper food rotation, labeling, and waste management
Support your teammates and contribute to a positive, accountable kitchen culture

Who You Are

You have previous line cook or prep cook experience in a scratch kitchen.
You genuinely enjoy cooking and want to improve every day.
You thrive in a fast-paced environment without sacrificing quality.
You show up on time, work hard, and take ownership of your station.
You welcome coaching and constantly look for ways to improve.
You care about your teammates as much as you care about your food.

Experience with pasta, butchery, fermentation, bread, pastry, or live-fire cooking is a bonus—but attitude, professionalism, and work ethic matter even more.
