Communications Specialist
I. Essential Functions
The Communications Specialist is responsible for managing the day-to-day execution of the Club's communications initiatives while partnering closely with the Communications Director in the creation and delivery of member communications. This position coordinates communications projects across departments, produces high-quality multimedia content, and helps ensure the Club's communications are timely, engaging, accurate, and aligned with the Club's brand standards.
Reporting to the Communications Director, the Communications Specialist oversees the planning, coordination, creation, and delivery of newsletters, video communications, social media content, digital calendars, multimedia assets, and member communications. This role collaborates closely with department leaders to ensure communications are delivered with excellence while supporting the Director on major communication initiatives, digital marketing efforts, and special projects that enhance the member experience and strengthen the Club's brand.
II. Job Tasks (Duties)
Communications Coordination
- Manage the day-to-day execution of the Club's communications initiatives and production schedule.
- Coordinate communications projects across departments to ensure timely and accurate delivery of information.
- Collaborate closely with the Communications Director on major communication initiatives, special projects, multimedia production, and digital marketing campaigns.
- Coordinate project timelines and priorities, ensuring assignments are completed accurately and on schedule while collaborating with the Communications Director on workload distribution and project execution.
Member Communications
- Manage the production of "The Week Ahead" newsletter.
- Collaborate with department leaders and team members to curate timely and engaging content highlighting Club amenities, programs, events, and services.
- Design visually appealing newsletters using Canva while maintaining the Club's brand standards.
- Coordinate content deadlines to ensure timely publication.
Video Communications
- Plan, schedule, produce, and edit Club video communications.
- Coordinate video shoots with Club departments.
- Film and edit videos using Adobe Premiere Pro.
- Upload, organize, and manage video content through Vimeo for member access.
- Ensure all video content meets the Club's quality and branding standards.
- Partner with the Communications Director on larger video productions and special multimedia projects.
Fitness Video Library
- Coordinate and record a fitness class every two weeks for the Club's online fitness library.
- Ensure recordings are professionally produced and suitable for member viewing.
- Maintain the organization and accessibility of the online video library.
Club Calendar Management
- Maintain the accuracy and timeliness of the Club Calendar of Events on the Club website and mobile application.
- Coordinate with department leaders to ensure events are properly scheduled, promoted, and communicated.
- Verify event information prior to publication.
Event Photography & Videography
- Coordinate and provide photography and videography coverage for Club events.
- Capture visual content that promotes Club culture, member experiences, and future marketing initiatives.
- Organize and maintain the Club's digital photo and video library.
- Partner with the Communications Director to ensure comprehensive coverage of major Club events.
Email Marketing & Multimedia Content
- Produce engaging multimedia content for email communications, newsletters, and digital campaigns.
- Create videos, graphics, photography, and other visual assets that support Club communications.
- Maintain consistency in messaging, tone, and visual branding across all communication channels.
Social Media Management
- Manage the Club's social media presence across LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and other approved platforms.
- Collect, organize, and curate content appropriate for each platform.
- Develop engaging captions and optimize hashtags to maximize member engagement and audience reach.
- Monitor social media activity and respond professionally to comments, likes, follows, reposts, and member interactions.
- Monitor engagement trends and provide recommendations to the Communications Director for continuous improvement.
Member Support
- Respond promptly and professionally to member communication inquiries.
- Assist with maintaining current member directory photographs.
- Support member requests related to communication platforms as assigned.
- Help members access digital platforms.
Technology Support
- Assist with the operation and troubleshooting of the Lifesize video conferencing system.
- Support members and team members with communication-related technology, website, and app questions as assigned.
- Stay current on emerging communication technologies and recommend opportunities to improve efficiency.
III. Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, Digital Media, or a related field preferred.
- Advanced proficiency with Canva, Adobe Premiere Pro, Vimeo, and other multimedia software.
- Experience with MembersFirst, PaceSetter, or similar club management software preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in photography, videography, video editing, and digital content creation.
- Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Creative thinker with a strong eye for visual design and storytelling.
- Thorough understanding of social media platforms, digital engagement strategies, and current communication trends.
- Customer service mindset with the ability to build positive relationships with members, guests, and team members.
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to learn and troubleshoot communication platforms and technology systems.
- Experience with aerial photography and videography is a plus.
- Willingness to obtain the FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate if required to support departmental operations.
IV. Work Environment

This position operates primarily in a professional office environment while also working throughout Club facilities and outdoor venues to support events and multimedia productions. The role routinely utilizes computers, cameras, drones, video production equipment, telephones, printers, photocopiers, and other standard office and multimedia equipment.

While performing the duties of this position, the team member is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, communicate, and operate computers, cameras, drones, and audiovisual equipment. The team member frequently uses hands to operate equipment and reach with hands and arms. Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing, balancing, and lifting equipment may be required while covering Club events.
Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Pay: $62,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
