Full Job Description

Overview

Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Patient Care Technician (PCT), where your compassionate approach and technical expertise will directly impact patient recovery and comfort. In this vital role, you will work closely with medical professionals to deliver exceptional patient care in a fast-paced hospital environment. Your skills in clinical procedures, vital signs monitoring, and patient support will help ensure safe, efficient, and compassionate care for those in need. Duties

Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility to promote comfort and independence
Perform clinical tasks including catheterization, IV insertion, phlebotomy, specimen collection, and suturing under supervision
Monitor vital signs regularly—such as blood pressure, pulse oximetry, EKG readings, and respiration—to track patient health status
Operate medical equipment safely and accurately, including cardiac event monitors and other diagnostic devices
Support emergency response efforts by performing CPR and basic life support (BLS) techniques during critical situations
Document patient information accurately using clinical information systems and ensure proper aseptic techniques during procedures
Assist with hospital procedures involving anatomy knowledge, physiology understanding, and cardiac rhythm analysis to support diagnosis and treatment

Qualifications

Prior hospital or acute care experience preferred; familiarity with hospital medicine is a plus
Demonstrated proficiency in venipuncture, phlebotomy, specimen collection, and specimen handling
Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and cardiac monitoring techniques required
Certification or training in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) and basic life support (BLS) is essential
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work effectively in high-pressure emergency room settings
Experience operating medical equipment such as EKG machines, pulse oximeters, and other diagnostic tools preferred
Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with healthcare teams and provide excellent patient care
