We are looking for a talented, technically skilled, and highly organized Design Assistant / Junior Interior Designer who is passionate about luxury residential design and excited to grow within a collaborative, fast-paced environment. This Candiate understands the importance of follow-up and attention to details.
This is more than a sourcing and drafting position. You will be involved in every phase of the design process—from concept development and client presentations to procurement, project management, and luxury installations. You’ll work alongside experienced designers, builders, artisans, and vendors while helping create beautiful homes for our clients.

Compensation
Base salary range: $52,000–$58,000 annually (initial compensation during the 90-day introductory period) based on experience, qualifications, and technical proficiency.
Compensation will be reviewed following the successful completion of the introductory period based on performance, initiative, technical ability, professionalism, and overall contribution to the team.
Performance bonuses, commissions, and opportunities for career advancement are available for exceptional team members based on drive and performance.
Schedule
- Monday – Friday | 9:35 AM – 5:45 PM
- Minimum of 8-hour workday
- Rotating Saturdays (approximately 1–2 Saturdays per month)
- Saturday Hours: 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Overtime may be required to meet project deadlines, client presentations, and installation schedules.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or Architecture
- 2–5 years of professional interior design experience preferred
- Luxury residential interior design experience preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Professional appearance and client-facing demeanor
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to continuously learn and improve

Primary Responsibilities
Client Relations & Project Coordination
- Assist in preparing for client meetings, design presentations, and project reviews.
- Attend client meetings, take detailed notes, and assist in establishing project goals and design direction.
- Prepare weekly project updates and maintain excellent communication with clients throughout each phase of the project.
- Coordinate with architects, builders, contractors, trades, vendors, and manufacturers.
- Help maintain project schedules while ensuring deadlines are met.
Technical Design
- Prepare AutoCAD construction drawings, floor plans, elevations, cabinetry details, and technical documentation.
- Review and mark up shop drawings.
- Complete tile layouts and installation diagrams.
- Develop furniture, lighting, plumbing, hardware, and finish schedules.
- Verify field measurements and project dimensions.
- Coordinate with drafting staff and consultants throughout the project.
Design Responsibilities
Assist the design team with the selection, specification, and presentation of:
● Custom cabinetry
● Flooring
● Tile and stone
● Plumbing fixtures
● Decorative hardware
● Lighting
● Paint and specialty finishes
● Wallcoverings
● Window treatments
● Furniture
● Accessories
● Artwork
● Decorative styling
Research products, source furnishings, obtain pricing, prepare specifications, and assist with client presentations while ensuring selections align with project budgets and design intent.
Procurement & Vendor Coordination
● Source products through luxury trade vendors, manufacturer websites, and vendor portals.
● Demonstrate a strong understanding of procurement procedures and luxury furnishings.
● Request pricing, prepare quotations, and assist in preparing client proposals.
● Create and manage purchase orders.
● Track acknowledgements, lead times, freight, and warehouse deliveries.
● Coordinate deliveries, installations, and vendor schedules.
● Communicate with vendors regarding backorders, damages, shortages, and replacements.
● Maintain accurate procurement records within Design Files, Design Manager, or similar project management software.
Administrative Support
● Maintain organized project files, specifications, schedules, and client records.
● Assist with presentation preparation, sample organization, shipping, receiving, and project administration.
● Coordinate vendor appointments and manufacturer presentations.
● Complete project-related errands including sample pick-ups and deliveries.
● Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail while managing multiple deadlines.
● Possess strong technical aptitude and quickly learn new software and technology.
● Be highly organized, proactive, dependable, and solution-oriented.
● Communicate professionally with clients, vendors, contractors, and team members at all times.
● Deliver exceptional customer service and represent Bennett Interiors with professionalism.
● Maintain a positive attitude and a willingness to assist wherever needed.

Installations
● Assist with luxury furniture installations and project styling.
● Verify merchandise upon delivery for accuracy and condition.
● Coordinate placement of furnishings, artwork, lighting, accessories, and décor.
● Complete installation punch lists.
● Photograph completed projects.
● Coordinate vendor service requests and warranty items when required.
Materials Library
● Organize and maintain the firm’s materials library.
● Order and catalog samples.
● Coordinate vendor presentations and lunch-and-learns.
● Maintain showroom organization and presentation materials.
Marketing & Social Media
Assist with the firm’s marketing initiatives, including:
