Established in 1996, the practice offers comprehensive services across multiple locations, emphasizing patient-centered care and clinical excellence.

Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Surgery Scheduler with outpatient ambulatory surgery center experience to coordinate surgical procedures efficiently. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems, and a thorough understanding of medical terminology and coding. This role is pivotal in ensuring smooth scheduling workflows, accurate documentation, and exceptional patient service.

Duties

Schedule outpatient surgical procedures within the ambulatory surgery center, coordinating with physicians, patients, and support staff to confirm appointment times.
Review medical records and documentation to ensure completeness and accuracy prior to scheduling.
Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems to input data accurately and maintain up-to-date schedules.
Communicate effectively with patients regarding preoperative instructions, insurance requirements, and appointment details via phone or electronic messaging.
Verify insurance coverage, process pre-authorizations, and assist with billing inquiries related to surgical procedures.
Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations and clinical confidentiality policies.
Collaborate with clinical teams to coordinate care plans and ensure all necessary documentation is reviewed for compliance.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Surgery Scheduler in an outpatient ambulatory surgery center setting.
Strong knowledge of EMR/EHR systems
Familiarity with medical coding including CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9/ICD-10 codes, and Medicare guidelines.
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy in documentation review.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel for administrative tasks.
Exceptional customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and communication abilities.
Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
Bilingual skills are preferred but not required; clinic or medical office experience is highly valued.
Knowledge of health insurance processes, medical billing practices, and clinical confidentiality policies is essential.
