This is a Family Law Paralegal Position with a focus on Discovery.

Family First Legal Group is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant – Discovery Coordinator to join our growing Family Law team. This is a detail-intensive legal assistant position focused primarily on managing the discovery process from start to finish. This is an in-person position based in our Cape Coral office. Success in this role requires exceptional organization, precision, and the ability to consistently produce accurate work while managing multiple deadlines.

The Discovery Coordinator serves as a vital member of the legal team by ensuring financial documentation is gathered, reviewed, organized, drafted, and prepared in compliance with court rules and deadlines. Key Responsibilities

As our Legal Assistant/Discovery Coordinator, you will:

Manage all aspects of the discovery process, ensuring compliance with court rules, firm procedures, and filing deadlines.
Track, prioritize, and manage multiple discovery deadlines across an active caseload.
Gather, organize, review, and maintain financial and other discovery documents received from clients, opposing counsel, opposing parties, financial institutions, employers, medical providers, and other third parties.
Communicate regularly with clients to request outstanding documentation, answer procedural questions, and keep discovery moving forward.
Prepare, assemble, proofread, and finalize discovery-related pleadings and court filings, including:
Certificates of Compliance with Mandatory Disclosure
Financial Affidavits
Responses to Requests for Production
Answers to Interrogatories
Notices of Production
Discovery deficiency correspondence
Supplemental discovery responses
Other discovery-related pleadings and correspondence as assigned
Review discovery production for completeness, identify missing or deficient information, and prepare follow-up correspondence requesting additional documentation.
Prepare financial summaries and organize supporting documentation for hearings, mediations, depositions, and trials.
Assist with printing and compiling exhibit binders for hearings and trials.
Maintain organized electronic case files and ensure all documents are properly labeled, filed, and easily accessible.
Coordinate with attorneys, paralegals, clients, opposing counsel, and third parties to ensure discovery obligations are completed timely.
Provide additional legal assistant and administrative support as needed.

Required Qualifications

Minimum of one (1) year of law office experience is required.
Experience in banking, mortgage lending, consumer or commercial finance, accounting, medical billing, insurance claims, civil litigation, collections, or other documentation-intensive industries is considered a strong plus.
Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to identify inconsistencies, missing information, and errors before they become problems.
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
Experience coordinating client documentation and maintaining organized case or file management systems.
Ability to draft professional correspondence and prepare legal or business documents with a high degree of accuracy.
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Professional verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently while remaining a collaborative member of the legal team.
Client-focused mindset with excellent customer service skills.
Positive attitude, professionalism, and adaptability in a growing law firm.

Attention to Detail Is Essential

This position requires handling sensitive financial records, court filings, and discovery documents where even small errors can have significant legal consequences. The successful candidate enjoys detailed work, maintains exceptional accuracy under pressure, and takes personal ownership of producing high-quality work product.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
