Full Job Description

Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Director of Design Review and Covenants to lead our design review processes and uphold community standards through effective covenants management. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the evaluation of design and landscape planning ensuring they align with community guidelines, aesthetic standards, and sustainability goals. Your leadership will foster collaboration among stakeholders, promote innovative design solutions, and maintain the integrity of our community’s vision. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate professional to shape the future of our community’s environmental standards while driving excellence in design quality and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Administer and manage the Design Review Committee (DRC) process.
Review and evaluate homeowner and builder applications for new construction, renovations, landscaping, and exterior modifications.
Ensure compliance with community design guidelines, governing documents, and applicable regulations.
Provide professional recommendations to the DRC and Board of Directors.
Maintain and update architectural and landscaping standards and design guidelines.
Monitor properties for compliance with governing documents (Declarations, Supplementals, By Laws) rules, and restrictions.
Investigate and document violations, including site inspections and photographic records.
Issue violation notices and coordinate enforcement actions in accordance with established policies.
Work with legal counsel, when necessary, on escalated compliance matters.
Track and report compliance trends and enforcement activity.
Promote consistent adherence of community standards while maintaining a fair and transparent process.
Serve as a resource to homeowners, contractors, and staff regarding rules and design requirements.
Ensure adherence to local, state, and environmental regulations affecting the community.
Communicate decisions, policies, and procedures clearly to residents and stakeholders.
Provide guidance and education to homeowners regarding design standards and covenant requirements.
Address homeowner inquiries, concerns in a professional and timely manner.
Maintain accurate records of applications, approvals, denials, and violations.
Prepare reports for the General Manager and Director of Administration as requested.
Work closely with Legal Specialist to understand or provide supporting Community documents (Declaration, By Laws, Rules and Regulations, Supplementals per Neighborhood, DRC Guidelines).
Supervise and support compliance and design review coordinator.
Collaborate with other departments openly and in a timely manner to avoid backlog of resident project requests

Pay: Up to $1.00 per year
