Nexus Blue Water Counseling is seeking a compassionate and motivated Registered Intern / Contract Counselor to provide telehealth-based individual and group counseling services to clients facing substance use and mental health challenges. This role offers the flexibility to work remotely while helping clients develop healthy coping skills, achieve treatment goals, and make meaningful progress toward recovery and overall wellness.
Responsibilities include conducting virtual assessments, developing treatment plans, maintaining timely clinical documentation, and facilitating telehealth counseling services using evidence-based practices. You will work collaboratively with a supportive team while enjoying the flexibility and independence of a contract position.

Responsibilities
- Provide individual counseling services through a secure telehealth platform.
- Facilitate virtual psychoeducational and process groups.
- Conduct assessments and develop treatment plans.
- Complete accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation.
- Participate in case reviews and treatment team collaboration.
- Maintain ethical and professional standards of practice.
- Support clients throughout their treatment and recovery process.
- Adhere to agency policies and all applicable regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
Required:
- Registered Intern with the State of Florida (RMHCI, RCSWI, or RMFTI) or other qualifying clinical credential.
- Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field.
- Knowledge of substance use disorders, mental health treatment, and evidence-based interventions.
- Ability to complete timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to effectively engage clients in a telehealth environment.
- Reliable internet connection and private workspace suitable for confidential telehealth services.
- Ability to meet all applicable DCF, Joint Commission, and agency credentialing requirements.
- Successful completion of required background screening, reference checks, and onboarding requirements.
- Commitment to maintaining client confidentiality and adherence to HIPAA, professional ethics, and regulatory standards.
Preferred:
- Experience providing telehealth counseling services.
- Experience in substance abuse treatment, DUI services, mental health counseling, or co-occurring disorders.
- Experience conducting assessments and facilitating group counseling sessions.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.

Compensation
Compensation is competitive and based on credentials, experience, and services provided. Details will be discussed during the interview process.
Additional Requirements
Employment and/or contract engagement is contingent upon successful completion of all credentialing, background screening, and compliance requirements in accordance with DCF, Joint Commission, and organizational standards.
