Full Job Description

Thank you for your interest in our small business. We have proudly served the greater Nashville area for nearly 10 years and continue to be amazed by the growing demand for our meals. As we expand, we are excited to add a skilled butcher to our team to support our weekly meal production.

If you are looking for a well-paying, consistent position with dedicated weeks off, no nights, no holidays, and plenty of time for family, this could be a great fit. We are a hardworking, collaborative team of private chefs who take the guesswork out of dinner (and sometimes lunch) for families across the greater Nashville area. We are currently seeking a reliable butcher to oversee meat fabrication, portioning, and preparation for our weekly production.

Experience

Prior butcher, meat cutting, or commercial food production experience is required. Additionally, experience in a commercial kitchen, meat market, grocery, or high-volume production environment is required.

Compensation

$20.00–$30.00 per hour, based on experience.

Schedule

(Shift times may vary slightly depending on the week’s needs)

Full-Time: 36-42 hours/week

Thursday: 9am–6pm
Friday: 8am–6pm
Sunday: 12pm–6pm
Monday: 6am–6pm

Optional work may occasionally be available on Saturdays.

What We're Looking For

Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Ability to accurately follow production sheets and recipes
Consistency in quality, portioning, and presentation
Ability to stand for extended periods
Ability to lift at least 50 lbs
Reliable transportation
Positive, team-oriented attitude
Commitment to food safety and sanitation standards

Primary Responsibilities

Breaking down and portioning various cuts of beef, pork, poultry, and seafood
Fabricating and portioning meats according to production specifications
Trimming, seasoning, marinating, and preparing proteins for weekly meal production
Griddling, grilling, smoking, roasting, and baking meats for weekly meal production
Labeling and organizing finished products
Monitoring inventory and communicating protein needs
Maintaining a clean, organized, and sanitary work area
Following all food safety and HACCP procedures
Assisting the kitchen team with additional prep as needed
Packaging meals with the team for deliveries

Smoking or vaping is not permitted on or near the property.
Because of our unique schedule allowing multiple weeks throughout the year off, we are unable to accommodate frequent or discretionary time-off requests. Exceptions include weddings, funerals, family emergencies, or illness that prevents you from working.
